One of the most sought after trail bikes, this 17' Santa Cruz Hightower CC is the do anything machine. It's adjustability as either a 29er or 27.5 trail bike as well as it's amazingly light weight (just 29lbs as pictured in this XL sizing) helps explain why these bikes carry such good resale value and are often difficult to find since their owners tend not to part with them. As a 29er it is excellent at navigating tricky and technical trails that ask the most of the rider. It is a machine that invites the rider to pick a line, hold it and rail out of turns.

Traction is outstanding thanks to the large 29 wheels and that VPP (Virtual Pivot Point) rear suspension. Drivetrain is, like the rest of the bike, a technological tour de force.

Shimano XT Di2 11-speed Electronic shifting gives you the absolute pinnacle of shifting performance. The simplicity, incredible battery life, and precise shifting have no peers. XT Di2 never struggles and the beautiful looks impress. It operates in near silence and reacts so fast it puts everything else to shame. Hold down either button and it will run up or down the gear range as it follows you every command.

When compared to a standard cable actuated XT setup the Di2 shifter, derailleur and battery are lighter by about 50grams thanks to the lack of cables. And the shifting is spot on perfect. The system is completely water proof and it's reliability and durability has been proven over and over again both in online reviews as well as real world race exposure. It is the setup to have if you can afford it.

The 175mm RaceFace Turbine crankset is spec'd wtih a 30t chain ring and a 10-42 SRAM XO rear cassette to allow for great climbing ratios. SRAM's Guide RSC brakeset features 180mm rotors front and rear. The cockpit consists of Santa Cruz carbon handlebars mounted to a RaceFace stem.

A Concept saddle is perched atop a Rock Shox Reberb dropper seat post. A Shimano Di2 charger is included with the bike. Bike has had one owner and has been well maintained including regular servicing.

The front fork was serviced late last year and has about 200 miles on it since. Bike shows signs of use including a number of paint chips and marks to the frame and fork lowers but no damage of any kind to the carbon of course. Fork stanctions are perfect as they are on the rear shock. There is heal rub to the face of the cranks which is common with these Race Face Turbines as their design stick out a bit more them some cranks and thus, heal rub... ENVE carbon wheels are true and as amazing as you think they are. Tires are excellent as well with 90% plus tread depth. Some of the wheels decals show signs of trail use (hard to avoid).

The resulting package leaves Hightower as one of the best bikes in it's segment. And this particular bike is the "CC" model which weighs a half of a pound less (230grams) then the standard hightower. VThe stiffness, durability, and strength are identical between the two different carbon offerings but that weight loss really can be felt on the trail. The way the bike transitions from turn to turn and climbs at the end of a hard ride. Laced to a matching pair of Industry Nine Black hubs using DT Swiss Competition 14/15 gauge spokes these wheels weigh just over 1800grams and that is for a tubeless ready wheelset with rim tape and valves included!

When compared to heavier aluminum wheels a set of carbon hoops improve everything including a lower rotating mass, center of gravity and even braking performance. These wheels really unlock the real performance of a bicycle like this. This bike is equipped with a RockShox Pike 29 RCT3 fork. This 140mm fork is especially good at staying in the butter zone, meaning, it has soft, compliant travel up high in the travel which helps keep the bikes natural geometry.

It keeps the steering feeling accurate and the whole bike under control. This is the perfect application for this fork.

Bike has had one owner and has been well maintained including regular servicing. Honestly, the only thing this bike needs is a motivated rider.. This bike is an Extra Large (21.5") with a 25.9 inch (65.0cm) effective top tube length and a 31.5" inch standover height. The 28.5 inch reach is measured from the center of the stems handlebar clamp to the center of the seatpost just under the saddle. This measurement can be helpful when comparing this bicycle to one you might currently ride.

This bike will best fit riders in the 6' 1" - 6' 3" range with adjustment. Don't ask, the request will be denied.

It all depends upon that weeks work load. So please be patient as we do our best to get the bikes out as quickly as possible to their new owners as we know how exciting it is getting one of the beautiful machines. To clarify these policies and time periods I can tell you the following.... We hand pack every bike ourselves using industry approved, BICYLE SPECIFIC boxes. These include the installation of plastic fork supports to keep the front fork from penetrating the bottom of the box and dérailleur side load supports and axle shields to keep the axle of the wheels from penetrating the side of the box.

This ensures that the bike will make it to it's destination. Lastly the box is sealed with industrial box staples to keep the load securely enclosed. They will deny the claim for the simplest of reasons. That is why we cover all the bases. Packing of a bicycle takes a significant block of time if done correctly.

This is one thing we can say that few other sellers of pre-owned bicycles can... Our bikes will make it to you as promised, as advertised and in EXACTLY the condition that it left us. Packing a bike is something that takes experience and taking short cuts will only land you in the nightmare of the UPS claims department which can take months to resolve.
