Most cookie policies exist to explain a long list of trackers. This one exists to state, clearly, that there is no list.
The short version

Frame by Frame does not place cookies on your device, does not use local storage to identify you, and does not load anything from an advertising network, an analytics service or a social platform. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Cookies are useful for keeping you signed in, remembering a shopping basket or holding a preference between visits. They are also the mechanism behind most advertising and audience measurement.
This site has no accounts, no basket and no advertising, so it has no use for them.
What is stored while you browse
When you filter or search the timeline, your selection is held in the address of the page you are looking at. That is why a filtered view can be bookmarked or shared: everything needed to rebuild it is visible in the address bar. Nothing is written to your device, and closing the page discards the selection entirely.
Your browser will, on its own account, keep the pages, illustrations and type from this site in its ordinary cache so that later visits load faster. That is standard browser behavior, it happens with every website, and it can be cleared at any time from your browser's settings. We have no access to it.
Third-party content
There is none. Every element of these pages is delivered from this site, including the type and every illustration. No external provider receives a request when you visit, which means no external provider can set a cookie through this site.
Links to museums, archives and reference works take you elsewhere. Once you follow one, the site you arrive at applies its own policy, and most such organizations do use cookies.
Controlling cookies generally
Every major browser lets you view stored cookies, delete them, block them from specific sites, block third-party cookies entirely or clear everything when you close the window. These controls are in your browser's privacy settings. Blocking cookies will have no effect on this site, because there are none to block.
If this ever changes
If cookies are introduced in future for any reason, this page will be updated before they are used, will list each one with its purpose and duration, and appropriate consent will be sought where the law requires it. We will not add tracking quietly.
