What we collect, which is almost nothing
Privacy Policy
Frame by Frame is a reference site. It does not have accounts, subscriptions, comments or purchases, and it does not need to know who you are in order to work.
This policy explains what happens to information when you visit these pages or write to us. It applies to carbonfabriccar.com and takes effect on the date shown at the end of this page.
Information you give us directly
The only way to give us personal information is to send an email. If you do, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it to answer you, and for nothing else.
Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to deal with the matter it concerns, and then deleted. Where a message leads to a correction, we keep a note of the correction itself, not of who reported it, unless you have asked to be credited.
We do not operate a mailing list, do not add correspondents to one, and do not sell, rent or share email addresses with anyone.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, these pages are delivered by a hosting provider whose servers keep standard access records. These typically include the address of the requesting device, the page requested, the date and time, the referring page and basic browser identification. They are generated by the hosting infrastructure, not by us, and they are used for security and to keep the service running.
We do not use analytics services, tracking pixels, advertising identifiers, fingerprinting or any other measurement of individual visitors. We cannot tell who you are, and we do not attempt to.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no third-party cookies. There is nothing to consent to and no banner to dismiss. The cookie policy explains this in more detail, including what your browser may store on its own account.
Third parties
Nothing is loaded from outside this site
Every element of these pages, including the type and the illustrations, is served from this site itself. No fonts, measurement services, social widgets, video players, comment systems or advertising networks are loaded from anywhere else, so no third party receives a record of your visit.
Entries link out to museums, archives, libraries and reference works so that claims can be verified. Following such a link takes you to an organization with its own privacy practices, over which we have no control. We suggest reading their policy if that matters to you.
Children
This site is a general-audience historical reference. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because there are no accounts, forms or comments, there is no route by which a child could submit personal information other than by sending an email. If we learn that we hold such information, we delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to object to its use. Since the only personal information we are likely to hold is an email you sent us, such requests are usually straightforward. Write to the address on the contact page and we will respond within thirty days.
We do not sell personal information, and we have never done so.
Security
These pages are served over an encrypted connection. Correspondence is held in an access-controlled mailbox. No system is perfectly secure, and we ask you not to send sensitive personal information by email, because there is no reason to.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Where a change affects information already provided to us, we will say so plainly rather than relying on you to notice.
