Frame by Frame publishes historical reference material about the development of animation. It is provided for information and education. It is not professional, legal, financial or academic advice, and it is not a substitute for consulting primary sources or the archives and institutions cited throughout.

You may read, search, bookmark, print and share these pages for personal, educational or research purposes. You may quote short passages with clear attribution and a link to the page you took them from. Teachers and students are welcome to use the material in classes and coursework.

You may not republish entries in full, reproduce substantial portions of the site, reuse the illustrations, or present this material as your own work. You may not extract the record in bulk by automated means, or use it to train or build a competing dataset or product, without written permission.

Nothing on this site should be read as claiming affiliation with, endorsement by, sponsorship by or any other connection to any studio, production company, distributor, museum, archive or rights holder. No such relationship exists.

This record is researched carefully, sourced to institutional documentation and reviewed before publication, and the standards applied are set out in the editorial policy. It is nonetheless a work of historical interpretation compiled by people, and it may contain errors.
